Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

We have to say good bye to another sweet kitty

I never met Scooter in person - unfortunately we probably would have hissed at each other if we had...tough kitties do that, you know - but I know she was a great kitty.
Scooter lived in Albuquerque, NM with her mum and dad. She had a great house with a big walled-in backyard that she patrolled when it was warm enough outside. She was so lucky!
You can see her in her garden if you go visit her Catster page here: http://www.catster.com/cats/144863
Scooter turned 20 last October. Her mum and dad made sure she was happy and comfortable to the end when she died this morning in her mother's arms while her dad stroked her head.
Scooter, I know you're going to be missed terribly, but you brought so much joy to your family and, with your mum's help, you brought joy to many more. Thank you.

I'm feeling much better now!!

The yummy chicken-flavoured antibiotics seem to have done their job! My leg is all cleared up and I'm feeling better! My appetite is back to normal, I had a big poop and I'm peeing in my litter box. Yay!!

I'm not feeling so well...

Mummy is worried about me. I went to the vet last week for my old kitty check up and because I had an infection on my leg. I also peed on the floor a few times.

Well, the infection seems to be clearing up, but now I'm hardly eating much. My appetite's not totally gone, but I'm not enjoying my food like I normally do.

I know I'm almost 20, but Mummy's pretty sure I'm not ready to leave yet. I'm not so sure, but I'm going to keep fighting.

Time flies!!

Wow! I have a lot to talk about!! For one thing, I moved!! I no longer live in New Westminster. We moved across the river to Surrey. This apartment is so much nicer. There's carpet everywhere. Mummy says she liked the hard wood floor, but that it's much easier just to vacuum a carpet! I also find it much easier to walk on...no slipping and sliding!

I sleep in front of the balcony door and have a perfect view of trees. There are birds in those trees!! I've even been out on the balcony a couple of times. It's much bigger than the old one!

This apartment also gets a lot of sun! (Well, when the sun is out, which it's not very often here in the winter...)

Now, what do you think of my new sweater? My granny knit it for me!

Mummy and I went to Ontario for Christmas and while there, I had my belly shaved - it was covered in knots because my fur is so fine. Anyway, Mummy was worried I'd be cold, so Granny made me this lovely sweater! I got lots of attention from the security guards when Mummy took me out of my carrier!!

Speaking of Ontario, I had a great time there! I got to sleep in a cool shoebox! Mummy brought a soft bed for me, but I liked the shoebox better, so she put my little heating pad underneath it.

You know what the best thing about going there was?? TURKEY!!

Here's a picture of me waiting for my turkey...Granny's standing a little funny because I kept walking through her feet:

I also got to sleep under the Christmas tree!! Mummy said I did a good job guarding it, too, because my stupid cousins Katy and Timmy never went near the tree. Rawr. They know how vicious I am!!

Alaidh cubed

Alaidh x Alaidh x Alaidh? Ack! My brain hurts! This isn't a math lesson!! I got a cube!! Well, okay, maybe a little lesson: it's a rectangular prism cuz it's longer than a cube. I don't care! It's cosy and soft!

Mummy took my heated bed away from me about a month ago because she didn't want me to overheat...and apparently it smelled like cat and she wanted to clean it. Of course, I prefer the cat smell to the fresh mountain stream smell!

Anyway, it's been really cold here! Not summer-like at all! Mummy noticed my paws were cold when I walked on top of her in the morning, so she realised I needed something a little cosier to sleep in. She found this cool bed at Canadian Tire of all places!

The pet stores she looked in had some similar, but they were leopard print...Mummy's not big on leopard print...unless it's on a leopard...

Diva!!

Check it out! I'm on Stuff On My Cat again!! Mummy put this boa on me so I could honour ze fabulous Isaac from Catster and she loved the picture so much, she sent it in to Stuff On My Cat in hopes it would be posted...and it was!!

You might remember the photoshoot we had on the bed - I wrote about it a little while ago. I certainly was annoyed at Mummy at first, but then I started to enjoy it and really get into it. I am such a diva!!
